Athlone Social Inclusion Forum Preparatory Workshop 2016
In St Kieran’s Community Centre, Tormey Villas, Athlone
On 7th September 2016 from 9:30am to 1:00pm
Each year the Community Work Ireland (CWI) and the European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN) Ireland carry out a number of preparatory workshops to support people to contribute to the national Social Inclusion Forum. This workshop will look at poverty and social exclusion in Ireland and the Government’s plans to address these including the role of the Social Inclusion Forum.
The workshop will provide a good opportunity for discussion and is mainly targeted at people with a direct experience of the issues, their organisations and others working to fight poverty and social exclusion.

The Social Inclusion Forum (SIF) is an annual event organised by the Department of Social Protection to support the development and implementation of the Government’s plans to address poverty and social exclusion. The Forum provides an opportunity for wider public consultation and discussion on social inclusion issues, particularly with people experiencing poverty and social exclusion and the groups that work with them. SIF 2016 will take place on September 14th in Chartered Accountants House, Pearse Street, Dublin 2.
Registration for the Social Inclusion Forum 2016 is not yet open.
