EAPN Ireland and the Community Workers Cooperative (CWC) carried out 10 meetings across Ireland in preparation for the 2014 Social Inclusion Forum which took place on 1st April. The discussion with the 216 participants at these meetings highlighted the frustration and anger which exists at the policy choices over the past 5-6 years which have resulted in increased poverty and social exclusion and eroded the community infrastructure which supports people to have a say in decisions which impact on their own lives. The summary report from the meetings concentrates on the new changes at local level to local development and community development, homelessness, the National Roma and Traveller Strategy and health but also covers the range of other issues which were discussed by participants. The short report of the preparatory which was presented at the social Inclusion Forum is available here.
