As part of the preparation process for the national Social Inclusion Forum 2014, the Community Workers’ Co-operative and EAPN Ireland are carrying out a number of preparatory workshops. These workshops will support people to contribute to and prepare for the national Social Inclusion Forum. The workshops will cover the Government’s plans to address poverty and social exclusion, the current reality and issues impacting on these plans, as well as the Social Inclusion Forum itself as an opportunity to discuss key issues at national level. There will be time for Q&A and discussion.
The workshops will include discussion on the Social Inclusion Forum 2014 themes, which are:
• Local Government Reform – role of community development, anti-poverty & social inclusion work at local level
• Roma Integration Strategy
• Healthy Ireland Strategy – How poverty impacts on health and/or mental health & a focus on Traveller health
• Homelessness
